Cretan Hound Medical Challenges
The Cretan Hound is considered to be a predominantly healthy breed, though some of these dogs may still experience certain issues such as joint dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy, ear infections and allergies to anesthesia. However, most of these dogs live full and healthy lives without any serious issues. Be sure to check with the breeder for any health screenings done on the breeding stock to give you a better idea of what you can expect for your dog. Annual checkups with your veterinarian will also play an important role in helping you to keep on top of, and promptly treat any issues that they may experience. Contact your vet right away if you have any serious concerns for the health and well being of your Cretan. Your pup will be grateful for all the loving care that you provide for them and they will be sure to find plenty of ways to show it that will continue to bring you joy.
