Cane Corso Medical Challenges
The Cane Corso is considered to be a predominantly healthy breed, though some of these dogs have been known to experience issues such as joint dysplasia, demodex mange, bloat, idiopathic epilepsy and some eyelid abnormalities. However, most Cane Corsos live full lives without serious health issues. Annual checkups with your veterinarian will play an important role in helping you to keep up with any issues that may arise. The National Breed Club also suggests that you speak with your vet about hip and elbow evaluations, as well as cardiac exams to help you better understand and ensure their continued health. Always be sure to contact your vet right away if you have any serious concerns about their health and well being. Your Cane Corso will be grateful for all the loving care that you provide for them, and they will be sure to find plenty of ways to show it that will continue to bring you smiles and joy.
